Responsibilities

  • The Purchasing Assistant performs various duties to help out the Purchasing Department. Tasks include:
  • Entering orders into the system.
  • Printing and filing Purchase Order Receipts and Vendor Invoices
  • Verifying vendor acknowledgements and invoices for accuracy
  • Managing EDI exceptions and errors
  • Assists Buyers and Rebuyers with various projects.
  • In order to maintain departmental accuracy, the Purchasing Assistant identifies and resolves issues such as incomplete order forms.  
  • The Purchasing Assistant verifies payments and credits with the Accounting Department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education: Must have or be working towards high school diploma/GED.


Experience: Three to six months of related office experience preferred.


Physical Demands: Low physical demands required. The employee is regularly required to sit for sustained periods of time and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.


Other: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The ideal candidate will possess the following strengths: attention to detail, high organizational skills, ability to multi-task, strong problem solving skills, 10 key accuracy and speed, ability to meet deadlines, positive attitude, and ability to be a team player.
