ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintains a working knowledge of all equipment in the department such as the computer (reserve product, untag product, verify orders, and product location), scan gun, scan report, etc. Oversees flow of work and safety issues. Maintain all assembly instruction books. Participates in inventory taking. Visually examines and feels surface of woodstock or products to detect defects such as mismatched veneer, dents, splits, blemishes, loose and uneven joints, holes, and faulty sanding. Verifies conformance of woodstock or products to dimensional specifications. Physically lifts or moves product by hand weighing up to 100 lbs. Operates as a team member in lifting, moving and repairing all product. Communicates with all other appropriate departments to ensure satisfactory flow of work. Keeps in communication with customers as needed. Handles all appropriate paperwork. Maintains the product assembly book. Responsible for all product quality. Oversees supplies and uniform levels in the department. Handles disposal of trash and appropriate handling of discarded products. Assigns tools to technicians. GENERAL INFORMATION This position is responsible for the condition of all product assigned to them. The product is to be assembled, repaired, and delivered in the best possible condition. This individual should understand and follow company policies as directed by the policies of HOM Furniture, Inc. The employee should have general knowledge of all product, repair, assembly and product modification. Adheres to safe lifting techniques, follows proper training for learned job hazards and ergonomic risk factors, participates in departmental stretching program, and overall maintains a safe working environment.

The employee is occasionally required to sit or remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects with either the entire hand or fingers, including typing. Reach with hands and arms in any direction, ascend and descend ladders and stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Stooping by bending downward and forward by bending at the waist, kneeling or bending at the knees to come to a rest on knee or knees, crouching by bending the body downward and forward, or crawling by moving about on hands or hands and feet. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data or figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, and using measurement devices.
