Merchandising Assistants provide support to the Visual Merchandising team and showroom through prepping of accessories, inventory management, inventory accuracy,  product placement, and various projects. These employees are responsible for helping to make the showroom the best it can be – and keep it looking great!

Must demonstrate computer literacy including ability to use inventory management system, internet, email, and MS Office Products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assemble or disassemble product as needed
  • Prep product for placement on the showroom floor.
  • Assist with showroom floor arrangement
  • Print and place price cards, CTs, etc
  • Maintain stock levels of “take with” items
  • Maintain quality of furniture – ie, ordering replacements or arranging for repairs on damaged pieces
  • Zone placement accuracy, cycle scans, year-end or any full showroom inventory
  • Receive and send transfers accurately and efficiently
  • Unpack and prep floor models, ensure they are “showroom ready”
  • Maintain supplies as assigned
  • Change ceiling light bulbs as needed and adjust to highlight furniture
  • Support showroom managers, visuals, sales staff, and others as needed
  • Maintain a clean Accessory storage/prep area at all times (through sweeping, mopping, general pick up, trash disposal,organization etc)
  • Use proper safety practices in regards to lifting, ladder usage, machinery usage, and more
  • Adhere to safe lifting techniques, follow proper training for learned job hazards and ergonomic risk factors
  • Participate in departmental stretching program
  • Overall maintain a safe working environment
Education and/or Experience

Must have or be currently working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 2 years work experience preferred.

Language Skills

Requires skills to read and interpret documents and reports for accuracy along with a demonstrated ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Mathematical Skills

Mathematical aptitude to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure and interpret ratios and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Need to be able to define problems, collect data , establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Also need skills to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
