Summary

HOM Furniture ranks as one of the top 50 furniture companies nationwide and has 17 locations throughout the midwest. We are seeking a Class A driver to transport goods and equipment to our various distribution centers. Local deliveries only (midwest), typically no overnights. Position with work 4 ten hours days (9 am-7:30 pm) with 2 of the 3 days off in a row. The position offers a competitive pay package based on experience.

Qualifications

This individual must be at least 21 years of age, have completed or be working toward a high school diploma/GED, hold a Class A driver’s license and be able to become D.O.T. certified. Strong candidates will have one to three years related experience and/or training.

  • Pick up and drop off loads to our distribution centers across the midwest.
  • Records delivery information on daily or delivery record.
  • Assist with warehouse duties when driving workload is minimal
  • Create a positive company image by wearing uniform appropriately while grooming regularly
  • Interact with warehouse staff and managers in a professional and team oriented manner
  • Listens with empathy to resolves service complaints.
  • Loads truck and assumes responsibility for inventory on the truck.
  • Cleans inside of truck.
  • Strong work ethics focusing on time management efficiency.
  • Adheres to safe lifting techniques, follows proper training for learned job hazards and ergonomic risk factors.
  • Participates in departmental stretching program, and overall maintains a safe working environment.
  • Other miscellaneous duties assigned by Service Coordinator or Delivery Manager
Education and/or Experience

Must have or be currently working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training.

Language Skills

Requires skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Competently speak before groups of customers or employees of organization. Demonstrate the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in written format.

Mathematical Skills

Mathematical aptitude to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
