HOM is a growing company that ranks as one of the nation’s largest furniture retailers serving customers in the upper Midwestern states of Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Our Mattress Specialists are energetic, driven individuals responsible for selling our products and services to customers. They know their product, follow up with customers, create opportunities and find meaning in their work. We pay our furniture associates variable commission rates based on the furniture sold. The amount you earn is all up to you! As our mattress department is one of HOM’s leading sales areas, we are looking for applicants with a proven sales record. Familiarity with competitor’s products and services is also necessary.
Due to the nature of our business, we are busiest evenings and weekends. Availability during those hours is ideal. However, we believe in and promote work-life balance, and scheduling needs should be discussed with the hiring manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must have or be currently working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Requires skills to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Need to be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Demonstrate the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in written format.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Mathematical aptitude to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also requires skills to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and the ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
