HOM is a growing company that ranks as one of the nation’s largest furniture retailers serving customers in the upper Midwestern states of Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Our Design Consultants are energetic, driven individuals. They know their product, follow up with customers, create opportunities and find meaning in their work. Design Consultants aid customers in making design decisions by providing in-home consultations, accessory shopping, and even floor planning! Our consultants are trusted advisors that provide a wealth of knowledge to our customer and are responsible for selling our products and services to customers. Designers average between $3000 and $5500 per month. Some make $6000+
Due to the nature of our business, we are busiest evenings and weekends. Availability during those hours is ideal. However, we believe in and promote work-life balance, and scheduling needs should be discussed with the hiring manager.

Must have or be currently working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training. An Interior Design degree is preferred, but not required.
Requires skills to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Need to be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Demonstrate the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in written format.
Mathematical aptitude to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Also requires skills to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and the ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
