  • Ability to follow leadership instruction and work effectively with others. 
  • Maintain confidentiality in regard to customer and company information. 
  • Must be able to meet flexible work schedule including working on evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed all Gabberts Sales Quantifiable Performance Metrics. 
  • Builds strong customer relationships. 
  • Ensures customer problems/inquiries are handled quickly and efficiently, with courtesy, fairness and equity. 
  • Maintains current knowledge on trends and technology in home and commercial furnishings, patterns, color and style trends, and of all resources and vendor programs. 
  • Sells from all product categories (to include upholstery, case, accessories, art, lighting, rugs, warranty protection) when delivering a complete project.
  • Develops client relationships from per item transactions to project-oriented rooms and total solutions that include sustainable long-term relationships. 
  • Builds a sustainable Book of Business to surpass Written Sales Goals 
  • Demonstrates effective qualification skills and utilizes professional home visits as needed to advance sales. 
  • Develops and effectively uses 30 second commercial.
  • Conducts business in a thorough, competent manner by accurately completing all required paperwork and effectively using computer systems. 
  • Ability to successfully partner with Associate Designers on projects (wall coverings, COM’s, window treatments). 
  • Utilizes Personal Comfort Profile to effectively gather client information. 
  • Actively seeks and follows through on prospective leads and seeks referrals. 
  • Consistently participates in store and team events. 
  • Consistently demonstrates competency in color and design. 
  • Attends all scheduled meetings, including product knowledge, floor tours, pre- and post-market meetings, and team/group meetings. 
  • Develops Personal Marketing Plan, which may include planning & presenting effective seminars and special events. 
  • Demonstrates Sales Competencies to include Sales Ability/Persuasiveness, Building Customer 
  • Loyalty, and managing work using time management, building strategic working relationships, tolerance, and professionalism/impact. 
  • Must commit to and demonstrate competency in project selling.
Education and/or Experience

Minimum two year Interior Design degree or equivalent accredited school a plus. Four year Interior design degree preferred. 

Minimum of 1 year of professional sales experience, luxury sales experience is a plus. Previous project and room design knowledge. 

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and in small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees within the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Mathematical aptitude to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data or figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, and using measurement devices.

Reasoning Ability
Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Need to be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
